U10 and U11 Hockey Tournament at Chandlings
Monday 25th September
U10 tournament
It was a beautiful sunny Monday afternoon when the Year 5 Hockey team travelled to Chandlings Prep School for a six-a-side tournament. They got there in plenty of time so were able to have a good warm up before the opening match. Up first were Oxford High. It was a very well played match with lots of great teamwork and effort but also a few nerves. After a quick team talk the nerves settled and they all started to relax into the games. The next two matches were against Cranford House and the hosts, Chandlings Prep. Spaces were created, passes were accurate and the shooting was clinical. With it being ‘Collaboration Day’ back at Headington, the team spirit also shone through brightly.
Vs Oxford High – Draw 2-2
Vs Cranford House – Won 1-0

U11 tournament
This was a fantastic afternoon of Hockey. Year 6 enjoyed three matches and showed great improvement throughout the games. Headington Prep were celebrating “Collaboration Day” and the children showed great team spirit in their communication and positivity towards each other. Their skills improved and they enjoyed putting their penalty corner skills, both attacking and defensive, to the test. The Chandlings game was a real spectacle, with the ball going from end to end. Headington were dominant in this game and were unlucky to concede late on. Well played everybody.
