U11 Hockey v St Andrews – Tuesday 19 March

This was an excellent game of hockey with both teams showing great attacking play. St Andrews brought their U11 boys to Headington to give the U11A team a practice match before their regional tournament on Thursday 21st March. Headington started slowly and conceded two goals in the first 7 minutes of the game. This gave the team a bit of a wake-up call and they started to defend with more strength and show more confidence going forward. In the second half, Headington scored 3 quick goals to take the lead, but St Andrews came back and scored an equaliser with 3 minutes to go. The game remained in the balance until the final whistle and a draw was a fair result. Player of the match was a last minute addition to the squad, Charlotte, who played her first game in goal and made some great saves for the team.
