U11 mixed Football match

On Monday 7th October, Headington Rye Prep’s mixed U11s Football team took on New Marston Primary School in their first home game of the season.

It was a close-fought first half with both sides missing good chances. Charlotte in goal made a number of great saves to keep us in the game.

New Marston scored twice before half time, giving Headington Rye plenty to do in the second half.

The team started the second half well with a powerful strike from Merope into the top corner. They kept pushing for an equaliser but it never came and New Marston scored twice more to seal a comprehensive win.

Overall, a good first home run out of the season against tough opposition. The team looks forward to the first round of the National League Trust cup in November.
