U5 Ashmolean Trip
U5 classicists were transported to the ancient world for a special trip.
Girls had the opportunity to visit the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford to see up close many of the objects from the Greek and Mycenaean world that they have been required to study as part of their GCSE course.
From seeing the intricacies of Linear B tablets to the Prima Porta statue of Augustus, it was a chance to hone their visual spotting and analytical skills.
The visit also included a visit to the Cast Gallery where they were able to appreciate the scale of the metopes and pediments that adorned the Temple of Zeus at Olympia.
An enjoyable afternoon was had by all.
