U6 Leavers’ Day 2024
There were tears and cheers as girls in U6 came together for the last time before going on study leave.
At the end of a week of themed costumes and other activities, girls spent their leavers’ day on Friday 3rd May reminiscing of their time at Headington.
Many arrived at school in the morning and joined Sixth Form staff for a farewell breakfast. The girls then took over the main hall to hear teachers express their fond farewells, read excerpts from their favourite books/poems and surprise girls with a beautiful song from the staff choir which the audience found particularly moving. The girls then watched a short video inspired by ‘carpool karaoke’ which was filmed and edited by one of the sixth formers and had some hilarious segments featuring popular staff members.
Girls left the school speaking of how they looked forward to their return in July for their U6 Prize Giving ceremony and final Foundation Day.
It was celebration time too for U5 girls, for whom GCSEs start imminently. There was an opportunity to sign shirts and wish each other good luck before turning their minds to revision.
Good luck to all those sitting exams!
