Visit to Williams F1 Heritage Centre
On Monday 24th June ten girls from Year 5 went to the Williams F1 Heritage Centre to be part of a Women in Engineering day held there. In order to be selected, they had to enter a competition and say why they wanted to go.
There were many great role models who led workshops, with facts about what engineering is and the number of women engineers (the UK is ranked last in Europe for the percentage of registered women engineers and technicians). There was a fun quiz, with useful and surprising information about engineering and an egg drop activity, with the girls finding some very creative solutions! From comments made by the children, they found it a hugely inspiring afternoon.
