Year 2 Royal Tea Party
As a starter to their new topic, Bright Lights, Big City, Year 2 enjoyed a Royal tea party on Monday 13th September. There was a lesson in how to curtsey from the ‘Lord Chamberlain’ and then an amazing array of cucumber sandwiches, scones with cream and plenty of cakes. The girls enjoyed dressing up and practising their polite conversation around the tea party table and this has led into some subsequent interesting discussions about the Queen and her life.
Miss Joanna Haynes, Acting Head of Key Stage 2 and Year 2 teacher said, “It has been a wonderful afternoon for us all to enjoy the start of term and the girls have demonstrated superb table manners and interesting discussions. I look forward to hearing more of their ideas over the coming weeks.”
