Year 2 visit Oxford University Museum of Natural History
On Tuesday 31st October, Year 2 enjoyed a fantastic morning at the Museum of Natural History to start their new Creative Curriculum topic, ‘Dinosaur planet’. They took part in an interactive workshop exploring real dinosaur fossils and bones and even dinosaur poo! They learnt about the connection between dinosaurs, reptiles and birds and interestingly discovered that the latest research suggests now suggests that most dinosaurs were feathered, including the T-Rex! It was very exciting to see that when new facts emerge it can alter our previous understanding of historic events. After their workshop, they spent time in groups exploring fascinating exhibits in the museum and enjoyed being able to touch and stroke many of the exhibits too. They were particularly impressed with the fact that many of the artefacts had been discovered in Oxford and even from Headington.
