Year 3 discover Iceland
In English, Year 3 have been exploring the book Arthur and the Golden Rope. The book is set in Iceland and they therefore decided to explore the scenery and landscape to help with their writing. They created TV adverts with the use of a green screen as a fantastic way to practice persuasive techniques and learn about a new form of recording/editing software. Before recording, the pupils had to use their note taking skills by reading textbooks and the internet to identify reasons to visit Iceland. After they collected their information, they then planned a picture board so that it would help them when writing their TV scripts. Once the scripts were written, the pupils then set to work rehearsing and eventually recorded their work. In pairs, they collaborated and reflected well on their videos to add in images from the internet to support their points.
Mr Joshua Batty, Year 3 teacher said; ‘It was fantastic to see all of the children rise to the challenge.’
