Year 3 go to Youlbury

The Year 3 pupils embarked on their first ever residential trip to Youlbury last week. The girls were full of excitement and anticipation, their cheers filled the bus when they arrived at the main gate. They then investigated their dorms for the night, after which they headed down to the first activities.

Over the two days, they faced their fears on the crate stack and zip wire and also channeled their inner Robin Hood on the archery range, celebrating one another’s successes at hitting the target. Finally, teamwork skills were honed on the team building course. Many challenging problems were faced together that involved friendship benches, a ‘croc river’ and pulleys to operate the ‘Toy Story Claw Machine’.

Everyone had a wonderful time and it seemed to be a great success for all the girls. “I love Youlbury! Do we have to go home?” rang out upon their departure. When asked if they’d recommend the trip to the next Year 3s, it was a resounding ‘YES! IT’S AMAZING!” and “I hope they get to do the zip wire as it made me feel so good when I faced my fear.”

Mr Josh Batty, Year 3 teacher, said: “It was wonderful to watch the girls get to know and work with each other and enjoy the challenges that were on offer.”
