Year 6 girls qualify for Hockey Regionals
Year 6 Girls Shine at Hockey Tournament, Qualify for Regionals
The Year 6 girls’ Hockey team delivered an incredible performance last week, showcasing skill, determination, and teamwork that made the School proud.
Organized and disciplined, the team demonstrated their growth throughout the tournament, applying lessons from recent training sessions and putting in some fantastic hockey.
The defense, led by Dana and Mia, was rock solid, with the team maintaining excellent structure, playing out from the back, and pressing high.
Jemima stood out with her relentless turnovers and high pressing, while Kitty scored two brilliant deflections at the post from penalty corners.
Gwen was a commanding presence in midfield, driving the team forward and cleaning up when the opposition countered.
Special mentions go to Bea for her resilience and impressive slap passes and to Sophie, whose outstanding saves made her the only goalkeeper to keep a clean sheet throughout the tournament.
Nina and Tamsin also played key roles, committing fully to the team’s success.
The team finished joint first with an unbeaten record of five wins, one draw, and no goals conceded. However, on goal difference, they were placed second behind Cranford House, who edged ahead by just two goals.
A 0-0 draw with Cranford highlighted the tight competition, with Cranford likely having the edge on the day.
Nonetheless, the team’s defensive record is a huge positive and a testament to their hard work and teamwork.
Congratulations to the girls for qualifying for regionals! A brilliant team effort—well done, everyone!
