Young Philosophers Conference

On Wednesday 2nd February, the 6th form Philosophy and Religious Studies students attended the ‘Young Philosophers’ Conference’ remotely, hosted by Merchant Taylors’ School.

The students watched a fantastic lecture in the morning from Professor Shannon Vallor from the University of Edinburgh, titled “The Digital Basanos: Truth and Violence in Artificial Intelligence”.

In the afternoon, U6 student Arinne delivered an impressive response to a paper proposed by a student from another school, on the relationship between the body and soul.

It was a brilliant opportunity for our students to do Philosophy, and to see the far-reaching implications of the topics they have loved studying and the skills they have acquired through their A level course.
