Young U3 pianist diploma distinction
A 12-year-old Headington girl has achieved a challenging and prestigious music qualification at the highest level.
Victoria (U3) was awarded a distinction in her DipABRSM piano exam.
This post-grade 8 diploma qualification is usually taken by students of 17 years old and above however Victoria has managed to achieve her distinction at the age of 12.
Mrs Aimee Jamison, Headington’s Director of Performing Arts said: “It’s incredibly rare that students of this age pass a diploma, never mind achieve a distinction.
“Victoria is a very quiet and modest student, but an exceptional pianist, and she hopes to become a concert pianist one day
“We want to congratulate the amazing Victoria and her fantastic effort and diligence towards her learning in music lessons.”
Victoria said: “I thought the exam went ok – I felt very nervous even though there was only one person listening!”
